Due date of DIRECTOR KYC: Before 30th September every year.

Every person holding a Valid DIN is required to submit his KYC details every year.

It is mandatory for every director who has been allotted a DIN on or before the end of the financial year (31st March ) will have to file form DIR-3 KYC before 30th September of the immediately next financial year.

There are two ways of performing Director KYC. One is through filing of E-Form DIR-3 KYC form and one is WEB-BASED KYC.

A. E-Form DIR KYC is required in following cases:

  • Submission of director KYC for the first time
  • Any changes in KYC documents that were submitted previous year.


Web-based KYC can be done if there are no changes in the KYC details  including the personal email id and contact number of any director that were submitted previous year.

Checklist for completion of KYC:

  • A personal Email id and Contact Number of the director
  • Self-attested copy of PAN card
  • Self-attested copy of Aadhar Card
  • Self-attested copy of Passport
  • A valid Digital Signature

All the documents of Director are required to be attested by a Professional (Practicing Company Secretary or Practicing Chartered Accountant)


  • The DIN of the director will become “Inactive” and the director will not be able to file any e-forms on the MCA portal.
  • The status of the director will be shown as “Deactivated due to non-filing of director KYC” on MCA portal.
  • A penalty of 5000/- is required to be paid to the MCA for re-activation of Director KYC.
